Days after Selena Gomez showed some love to Demi Lovato for her new YouTube documentary, the former Disney BFFs reunited at the InStyle Awards on Monday night (October 23) at the Getty Center in Los Angeles.
For their ensembles, Gomez chose a simple black dress as Lovato went down a more fluorescent road with a lavender gown and matching makeup. It's been quite a long time since the pop stars have reunited to snap some photos with one another. After all, they go as far back as their early years on Barney & Friends, but have gone separate ways since then. During a 2014 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Lovato spoke openly about unfollowing Gomez on Twitter, revealing, "I think it's just one of those things where people change and people grow apart." Thankfully, after a string of social media love and even mutual praise for their recent singles like "Fetish" and "Sorry Not Sorry," it looks like these former Disney darlings are back on track to a solid friendship.
For Gomez, the night wasn't just about the star-studded fashion. She was on-site to present an award to makeup artist Hung Vanngo for his Makeup Artist of the Year accolade. "Hung came in and he just radiated passion. And I think that sometimes it can be a little hard to remember why you do what you do and to be passionate about it," Gomez said during a speech. "He doesn't pay attention just to the details of what he's doing to somebody, but he cares about how they feel and how they wear it and [he] works so hard at being on time, caring what other people feel, what other people are doing, and if everybody on the same team, and I just think that's really really special."
Lovato, on the other hand, was in attendance to receive the Advocate Award from Kelly Rowland. See photos from the event below!
