'Glee' Star Mark Salling Reportedly Dead At 35 Of Apparent Suicide

Mark Salling has died of an apparent suicide, according to law enforcement via a report by TMZ. The former Glee actor was 35.

On Tuesday (January 30), TMZ reported that his body was found near a riverbed in his neighborhood of Sunland, California. The outlet reported that he died after hanging himself from a tree. Police received a call to do a "welfare check" on Salling and that led them to the baseball field where his body was found. In August, word spread that the actor had reportedly cut his wrists as a suicide attempt, but his lawyer at the time denied all reports of self-harm.

Months later, in December, the actor had pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography involving prepubescent minors. Salling reportedly had 50,000 images of underage children on his computer. He was previously arrested in December 2015 on the charges. Sentencing for his case was scheduled for March, with Salling expected to receive four to seven years in prison as part of a plea deal.
