Niall Horan Reveals This Icon of His Helped Compile Solo Album ‘Flicker'

Niall Horan’s debut solo album Flicker has arrived. The One Direction alum stopped by On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Friday, October 20, to celebrate the drop and shared that while working on the album, he consulted with none other than Eagles idol Don Henley

The Irish hunk explained that he worked on Flicker for about a year, but that he didn’t initially plan on curating a solo album.

“To be honest, there was no real plan for me to do anything,” Niall shared. “I was looking forward to doing nothing. But me being me, I got bored … and ended up starting to just write.”

The “Slow Hands” singer explained that he wanted to make an album full of his influences and while thinking that he was “missing something,” he reached out to the Eagles legend for help.

“I’ve become quite close to him … it’s nonsense!” Niall shared. “I went to my first Eagles concert when I was 4-years-old so to have a chat with him is just amazing. [He’s like a dad to me].”

The former 1D member added that he’d email Don snippets of songs for advice. “Like, with ‘Slow Hands,’ he was telling me what we could do with the riff,” Niall shared.

Flicker is available to stream or download now!
