Katy Perry Previews New Songs 'Cry About It Later' & 'Teary Eyes'

Katy Perry is getting fans excited about her new album!

The songstress is still teasing music from her upcoming fifth studio LP, Smile. She did as much during last night’s (August 9) “Smile Sunday” live stream when she treated Katy Kats to snippets of “Cry About It Later” and “Teary Eyes.”

The first record sounds like a mid-tempo breakup track that will have listeners dancing through tough times. “Cry about it later/ I’ll cry about it later/ Tonight I am having fun,” Perry sings. “Tonight I’m getting some/ Tonight I’m getting something brand new.”

Making the moment even more special, the pregnant singer’s fiancé Orlando Bloom made a hilariously sneaky cameo in the clip, catching the mother of his future child off guard as she vibed to the song. "Never miss a #SmileSunday ok," Perry later quipped in a tweet with the teaser.

As for “Teary Eyes,” it’s one of the first dance jams we’ve heard from Perry’s new album. Much like “Cry About It Later,” the song has a similar hedonistic, but with a mesmerizing ‘90s-inspired groove. “Won or run/ I got my mascara/ Bright, stained lips/ Talking to the mirror/ Sun comes out/ Don’t even care at all,” she sings in the pre-chorus, before chanting, “Just keep on dancing with those teary eyes.”

These are just a few of the newest songs Perry has been teasing from her long-awaited project, which releases on August 28. Since dropping previously-released bops “Daisies” and “Smile,” she's previewed other tracks like “What Makes A Woman” and “Not the End of the World." (Hear snippets of those tracks here.)

As fans know, apart from releasing her new album soon, Perry and Bloom are reportedly weeks away from welcoming their unborn daughter.
