25-year-old Alumni Falls In Love and Gets Engaged to 71-year-old Professor

25-year-old Princeton valedictorian and University of Oxford Ph.D. grad, Cameron Platt got engaged to her 71-year-old former professor and chairman of Princeton's English Department, Lee Clark Mitchell after they started dating 6-months ago. Both are aged nearly 50 years apart.

Cameron Platt revealed in a Facebook post that she loved Lee Clark Mitchell's 'brilliance, sensitivity, and passion' when they originally met 5-years-ago. She asked her professor out on a date back in September when she started missing him while studying abroad. When she got back, they went on a date to the Metropolitan Museum in Manhattan and hit it off. Platt also revealed on a Facebook post that, 'His lectures changed forever the way that I think. By the time of my graduation he had become a dear and devoted mentor to me.'

She the proposal, Platt shared a pic of the diamond ring and said: 'Soon I understood that I felt something for him that I'd not fully acknowledged before. At the end of my two years in Oxford, after much reflection, and with encouragement from my wonderful friends, I resolved to shoot my shot.'

Professor Mitchell was previously married to a music historian named Carolyn Abbate, 63, and together have 2 sons, aged 21 and 26.

Proof that love is blind and knows no boundaries! Age is just a number.
