World's Smallest Baby Born in San Diego at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital

Baby Saybie was born in the Sharp Mary Birch NICU at just 8.6 ounces; that makes Baby Saybie the smallest baby ever born and to ever survive according to the official Tiniest Baby Registry!

Saybie was born at only 23 weeks and 3 days gestation — and weighing a mere 245 grams — a micro preemie. That is about the same weight as a child's juice box.

She was delivered at San Diego's Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns, California's largest maternity hospital which happens to be one of the best in the world in caring for micro preemies. After about 5-months in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), Saybie was able to go home with her family in the middle of May 2019... as a 5-pound infant.
