How To Manage Stress and Anxiety

Dr. Larissa Lacorte, a psychiatrist at Kaiser Permanente San Diego, shares this important message about managing stress and anxiety. Difficult situations can cause worrisome thoughts, trouble sleeping and difficulty getting through your day-to-day activities. Practicing self-care is critical.

When feeling stressed and anxious:

  • #1 get enough rest. Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep and try to go to bed and wake up at the same time everyday
  • #2 Avoid caffeine, alcohol and nicotine
  • #3 move your body exercise is a powerful weapon to Combat Stress and anxiety. And even a 10-minute walk can have a big impact to alleviate your symptoms.
  • Lastly, take time to unplug from your devices and connect with the people in your life that matter most.
