Whattz is the i-Heart pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He’s a 1-1/2-year-old, 8-pound, male, Chihuahua mix.
Whattz and his brother, Whitz, were at a crowded shelter in the Imperial Valley. They were transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters.)
Whitz was adopted. Now Whattz needs a home. He likes sitting on laps and stealing dog treats.
The $145 adoption fee for Whattz includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.

Happy Tales Make Happy Tails at Rancho Coastal Humane Society
The Happy Tales reading program for children resumes on Monday, June 12th at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas. Children read aloud to the dogs, cats, and rabbits available for adoption.
Happy Tales is for children 6 years and older. Sessions run from 11:30 to 12:30. The cost is $10 per child. Pre-registration is required.

Each session is limited to 6 children. Each child must be supervised by a parent. Readers must wear closed-toed, rubber-soled shoes. Hey can bring their own pillow, blanket or towel to sit on, or RCHS can provide a towel.
The kids can bring their own books or borrow a book from Rancho Coastal Humane Society’s Humane Education library.
