What you can do for "A Day Without A Woman"

March 8 - International Women's Day

I am certain you have heard about March 8, International Women’s Day.  You have seen the press and the groups calling for women to strike, thus making it “A Day Without A Woman”.  Regardless of your politics, we can all agree on this:  the organization you work in is more diverse than it ever has been and many of our managers strive to make it so.  Imagine what tomorrow would look like if there were no women in the building?  Business would slow drastically and Gary would have to input his own orders. Bad.

There are many ways to show your support of women and the advancement of women overall:

1)      Arrange with your manager (no later than today) to take tomorrow off if you choose to participate.

2)      Wear red. You can show your colors right up front.  This includes neckties!

3)      Support female owned/operated businesses (this is a hall pass to buy Tory Burch – just sayin’)

As a female and the leader of this organization, I could not be more proud of the women in our ranks and our team in general. Whatever you choose to do to honor women tomorrow, you will be supported.

I will be here and I will be proudly wearing red.

Thanks for being a beautifully diverse team,

Melissa
