Seacrest, Charlie Puth, Adam Levine Surprise Children’s Hospital Patient

On Friday, October 18, Ryan Seacrest helped make a Children’s Hospital Colorado patient’s birthday dreams come true with help from Seacrest Studios, Adam Levine and Charlie Puth.

Maya, a 17-year-old patient being treated at the Children’s Hospital, wrote to Ryan thanking him and his foundation, the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, for building radio stations throughout pediatric hospitals across the nation to offer patients, like herself, a fun distraction from their treatments and appointments.

The teen started a pop culture show and broadcasts once a week at the hospital, even interviewing celebrity guests and artists whom she contacts and books herself! After Ryan got Maya’s letter, he reached out to two of her favorite artists, Adam Levine from Maroon 5 and Charlie Puth, and helped surprise her and her twin sister, Leah on their birthday.

“Before I wouldn’t have anything to do while waiting for my appointment; I was so sick of coming here and then the studio kind of changed that,” Maya told Ryan on-air after she regained her composure following the big surprise. “And then my mom had to allow time before the appointments or after so I could come in here.”

Maya, who also posts her broadcasts to her YouTube channel Pop Star Extraordinaire Maya, explained that she spends five hours each weekend putting together the weekly entertainment show and that she’s previously had stars on including Jake Johnson from one of her favorite shows New Girl.

Ryan then surprised Maya and her sister with cake and flowers for their birthday — and then with Adam Levine and Charlie Puth!! Both Adam and Puth phoned in to surprise Maya, who was live from the Seacrest Studio in Denver.

After a few breaths and exclamations, Maya asked Adam her “standard question” she asks guests regularly: Who do you consider to be a real-life superhero and why?

The Maroon 5 frontman answered his wife Behati Prinsloo, making us cry all over again.

“The real-life superhero stuff was probably being present and watching my wife have our children, you know?” Levine shared. “… Because I couldn’t believe this person was capable of doing this thing that I would be way too scared of doing. There’s just no way — I would way too terrified — and it was so amazing to watch and so I think I felt in those two moments this person was capable of this super, incredible feat I wasn’t built for and it was pretty astonishing.”

Charlie then surprised Maya next and dished on his latest singles and what else is to come following his September 2019 release “Mother.”
