I'm Not OK

Dear Diary,

I almost didn't write this today. I didn't write one last week, either. I am not feeling myself these days. I am sad, bummed, confused, tired. So tired. I don't like this at all. I'm pretty sure this has everything to do with what's going on in the world.

I know I have the opportunity and the platform to express my opinion on the current events in our world. I just don't know how to express myself. This is a first for me. I usually know what to say or how to say it, but not this time. I am so confused. So, instead, I have been taking solace in my kids, my family and my bed.

What I do know is this...we are all humans. We have the same beating hearts, we have souls, we are all born, we love, we die. We are equals in God's eyes. Why does skin color even matter? Ugh. I hate hate. Stop it already. Just stop it. I admire and appreciate the people who have taken to the streets to protest..peacefully. What you are doing is making a difference I believe we are headed in the direction of a more compassionate and tolerant world. Ok. Now onto less heavy topics.

Here's Antonio's new mask. He thinks it's hysterical. I think it's funny that he thinks it's so funny.

He celebrated Father's Day with his kids this past weekend becaue his daughter was in town. How cute are they?

I am missing my sweet boy, Charlie, so very much. He's working at Albertson's in Eugene and going to school. I hope he gets to go back to the University campus in the fall. I pray this thing will subside by then.

At least I have my other ray of sunshine by my side. She is the light of my life. We joke that we should be on that TLC show called sMothered because we are so much alike.

Antonio knows how much I love my turtle, so he brought some cool things back from Tijuana. A tiled statue, a stepping stone and a pot. I'm in love.

You know what, I have decided to get my butt outta bed early tomorrow and do something kind for another person. It's the least I can do. And, I leave you with this happy song.

See you next week, Diary.
