Dear Diary,
Sorry it's been a while since I've checked in with you. I've been dealing with a roller coaster of emotions these past few weeks. The whole Antonio situation is one of them...I'll get to that in a minute. But, the main issue, which isn't an issue it's a celebration, is that my sweet baby girl turned 17 on Friday. We had the best day. I bought three Groupons...one for a partial hair highlight, one for a full makeup application and one for a head shot sitting at a photography studio. We took her friend Lexi with us. Here are some shots of the whole day. I made a little video of the day and posted it on YouTube. Lemme see if I can post it here.

We went to USD for a picnic lunch and an impromptu photoshoot.
After lunch, we were supposed to go to a makeup studio but the woman canceled at the last minute because of an emergency. I panicked, but then realized good old Nordies is always there to save the day. Thanks to Gaby at the Bobby Brown counter, this is how Evan's face turned out. Wow.
Off to Chelsea V Studio for the headshots. Here are some behind-the-scenes takes...
Omg, we are going to have so many to choose from! After the long, but fun day, we headed back to the hotel where Evan and her two friends had a sleepover. The next day, Ev and I rented these cool sit-on electric scooters from a place downstairs from our hotel. I highly recommend it. They haul butt and it's kinda scary at first, but after the initial freak-out, it's a blast! And, the view along the water was priceless.
Sunday, we drove to Temecula to have a birthday lunch with my family. It was hot up there so my mom sat in the shade while we walked around after lunch.
My sister's birthday is on July 5th so we celebrated her, too. I love Jenny so much. She's a badass who takes no crap but sweet at the same time. I wish I could be more like that. She's so pretty, too. She's done nothing to her face...no botox, no filler, nothing...unlike her sister!
And, my mom looks aaaah-mazing for 80 years old. Still can't believe she's 80.
So, Evan's birthday week and weekend were a success. I am having a hard time processing that she'll be 18 in a short year. My babies will be out of the nest. I'm already sad about it. I have no idea what kind of headspace I'll be in then. If it were happening now, I'd be a wreck. I just love that girl so much. She is literally sunshine in human form.
On a completely different note, I am in a weird sort of holding pattern with regard to Antonio. He's not my boyfriend any longer but our lives are still somewhat intertwined. A friend of mine saw him entering a bar with a woman last week. I confronted him about it and he denies he was with anyone. Who do I believe? Does it even matter? I kinda don't even care. At first, I did a little. It's like, "Hey, buddy, the body isn't even cold over here." Ya know what I mean? But, he is free to do what he wants to do. So am I.
I joined Bumble again. Why. It's dumb. I have come across some pretty lame dudes...guys named Bingo, Sir, Rover, Zee...I mean, C'mon. The ones I do have an interest in, the ones I swipe right on? Those go away because they didn't like me back. Why am I doing this to myself?
Something cool happened this month, though. I got a new car! A new lease from Bob Baker. My sales guy Roy was the most no-nonsense dude on the planet. I got another Jeep. I think I'll be driving Jeeps for the rest of my life. I love them. This one is a she and she's named Skipper. haha
Two final things...Elvis is just the cutest boy. He's getting neutered on the 5th. Thank God because he's Humper McHumpstein lately. He sure is cute tho
And, hotel life is still great. I want to go home again, but until then, I'm just fine.
