Did You Know They Pay For Olympic Gold?

The entire show was today years old when they found out how much the Olympic Gold Medalist is compensated. We all knew that the money that Olympic athletes make come from big brand sponsors, but did you know the Olympic Committee dishes out some too. What is even more interesting is the amount varies by country and the US is NOT top paid by the Committee.

So how much do less famous competitors get paid?

All U.S. athletes can earn a “medal bonus” from the U.S. Olympic Committee for each medal won.

TheCommittee paysAmerican medal winners $37,500 USD for gold, $22,500 USD for silver, and $15,000 USD for bronze medals. Some countries, though not all, pay athletes similar medal bonuses:
