The 16th annual Carlsbad Music Festival is a 3-day summer celebration of adventurous music by the beach on Friday, August 2 through Sunday, August 4, in the charming seaside Village of Carlsbad. The weekend includes free indoor and outdoor concerts at various venues, a beer garden, food trucks, and an artisan market. VIP packages are sold for hosted snacks and drinks in the VIP Lounge with the best views of the outdoor lawn stage and beach as well as reserved indoor venue seating.

The 22nd annual International RoboSub Competition is an underwater robotics program in which teams of high school and college students from around the world design and build an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). The Finals are on Sunday and open to the public.
