Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked the world when they announced they'd be stepping down from their positions as full time working members of the Royal Family and moving to Canada. Their historic announcement wasn't only shocking to the wider public, but to Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well. While there have been rumors of a feud between the princes for quite some time now, the Sussexes' decision to step down reportedly exacerbated the existing issues between Prince Harry and Prince William. When the royal foursome reunited earlier this month at the Commonwealth Day, they exchanged a chilly greeting that left royal watchers everywhere doubtful the brothers would ever move past their rift.
One person disagrees with that assessment, however, is the Duchess of Sussex. Meghan believes the brothers "will patch things up eventually," according to an Us Weekly source. Though many people have blamed her for the grown men's falling out, the source says her "conscience is clear" and that she's "not beating herself up for things she can’t control."
Prince Harry echoed these sentiments late last year during a candid interview with ITV. He admitted that he and his brother are "certainly on different paths at the moment" with William preparing to become king and Harry figuring out what his role within the Royal Family would be growing forward. After William's three children were born, Harry was bumped down to sixth in line for the throne. Despite being on different paths, the Duke of Sussex added "we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. I’ll always be there for him and, as I know, he’ll always be there for me."
In the meantime, Harry and Meghan are happy with their decision to move to Canada, despite the unintended consequences. "They are enjoying living a quiet life,” a source told People. “They go for long walks, they do yoga, and Meghan cooks. They are real homebodies who love to chill out with Archie and the dogs.”
