ANTELOPE VALLEY (CNS) - The body of a woman who police say vanished from her apartment in Simi Valley has been found in a remote area of the Antelope Valley, and police Monday say her ex-husband has been arrested in connection with her death.

The body of Rachel Castillo, 25, was found in the Antelope Valley on Sunday, Simi Valley Police said. She was positively identified with the help of the Los Angeles County Coroner.

She was the mother of two young children. Her sister called police on Thursday when she found a large amount of blood in the apartment they share in the Wood Ranch neighborhood of Simi Valley.

During an investigation, police determined a crime had taken place and began searching for Castillo. Investigators told NBC 4 the amount of blood found in the apartment was consistent with a "serious injury."

"The primary suspect in this case is Castillo's ex-husband, 25-year- old Hawthorne resident Zarbab Ali," Simi Valley Police said in a statement.
