The city of La Mesa is moving ahead with plans to expand its pedestrian network and bike lanes.
There will be eight new segments that will connect existing bike and sidewalk infrastructure. There was one "no " vote from council member Laura Lothian, who questions whether the lanes are truly needed.
The project is expected to cost a little over a million dollars with most of the funding coming from grants and city funds. However, before the project gets moving, Lothian wants a study done to see if the lanes are worth the resources that are needed to build them.
