All of San Diego County coastal areas have been under a Tsunami advisory since Tuesday night, following a powerful earthquake off the coast of Russia.
The 8.8 magnitude quake also promoted warnings for Alaska, Hawaii and Guam.
By early Wednesday morning, no major coastal flooding had been reported. A spokesperson with the National Weather Service in San Diego tells KOGO News, it's not the waves they're concerned about now, but the strong ocean currents.
The National Tsunami Warning Center had been predicting the highest water level above the tide to be less than one foot waves.
This isn't the first time in recent history the San Diego area has been under a Tsunami Advisory. Three years ago one was issued following the eruption of an undersea volcano near the Pacific Nation of Tonga.
