Work began over the weekend on the mural at Joe Musgrove's high school alma mater, Grossmont High School in La Mesa, CA. The mural was commissioned by the San Diego Padres to commemorate Joe's history-making, no-hitter pitching game against the Texas Rangers on Friday, April 9.
Musgrove threw the first no-hitter game in San Diego Padres franchise history. He talks about this history making game with XTRA 1360's Marty Caswell in the video below.
The mural is being painted near the school's administration building by artists Paul Jimenez and Signe Ditona of Ground Floor Murals. The couple also painted the Tony Gywnn mural that can be seen in City Heights.
