Red Shoe Day 2022 for Ronald McDonald House Charities

As Ronald McDonald House Charities® of San Diego returns to in-person fundraising on June 2 for the 13th annual Red Shoe Day, the organization is calling on volunteers and supporters to show up at intersections throughout San Diego County.

After two years of hosting Red Shoe Day virtually, hundreds of Red Shoe Day volunteers and community heroes will be back in person collecting cash donations in iconic red shoes at intersections across San Diego County on June 2, 2022. Individuals, businesses and groups are encouraged to support the San Diego Ronald McDonald House by assembling an in-person team of volunteers, creating a virtual fundraising page at RedShoeDaySD.com, or simply donating on their morning drive on June 2.

“The return to in-person fundraising allows our team and volunteers to once again connect with their community while making an impact in the lives of local families,” said Chuck Day, president and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. “The work of San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House continues to keep families together and the ongoing support of our community, generous donors and volunteers is indispensable in making our House a home.”

In addition to donating at intersections, online or via Venmo, San Diegans will also be able to add a $1, $2, or $3 donation to their favorite McDonald’s order at participating locations throughout the county through June 5, 2022. All proceeds from the Red Shoe Day fundraiser will go directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, with a $50,000 match from the charity’s board of trustees for all online donations.

Red Shoe Day is supported by partner sponsors McDonald’s of San Diego County and AMN Healthcare, founding media sponsor CBS 8 and the CHW San Diego, media sponsor iHeartRadio and other sponsors, including GEICO, Walmart, Kiwanis Club of San Diego, Sola Salons San Diego, Aspire Bakeries, Tyson Foods, Illumina, Bama Companies, INTGR8 Creative Consulting, ECOLAB, UPS and BRINKS.
