This is Doctor Larissa Lacorte, a psychiatrist at Kaiser Permanente San Diego with an important message about managing stress and anxiety. Difficult situations can cause worrisome thoughts, trouble sleeping, and difficulty getting through your day-to-day activities. Practicing self-care is critical when feeling stressed and anxious. #1 get enough rest. Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep and try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. #2 avoid caffeine, alcohol and nicotine. #3 move your body. Exercise is a powerful weapon to Combat Stress and anxiety, and even a 10-minute walk can have a big impact to alleviate your symptoms.
