Dr. Larissa Lacorte, a psychiatrist at Kaiser Permanente San Diego has an important message about managing stress and anxiety. Difficult situations can cause worrisome thoughts, trouble sleeping and difficulty getting through your day-to-day activities. Practicing self-care is critical when feeling stressed and anxious.
#1-- Get enough rest – aim for at least 8 hours of sleep and try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.
#2 -- Avoid caffeine, alcohol and nicotine.
#3 – Move your body, exercise is a powerful weapon to combat stress and anxiety and even a 10-minute walk can have a big impact to alleviate your symptoms.
Lastly, take time to unplug from your devices and connect with the people in your life that matter most.
