Name:           Walter

Age:               4-years

Weight:         17-pounds

Gender:        Male

Breed:           Domestic Short Hair Cat with a Blue and White Tabby coat

Walter is the i-Heart pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He’s a 4-year-old, 17-pound, male, Domestic Short Hair Cat with a Blue and White Tabby coat.

Walter was a stray. He was taken to a shelter in Riverside County, then transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters.)

He’s almost blind, but has enough sight to find his food, water, and litter box. Walter can jump, climb and play. Say hello before touching him so he’s not startled.

The $100 adoption fee for Walter includes medical exam, neuter, up to date vaccinations, and registered microchip.

June 23rd is Take Your Dog to Work Day. Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society reminds dog owners to follow a few basic rules for success.

·Check with co-workers to see if they’re allergic or afraid of dogs.

·Make sure that you will be able to take care of your dog during the day.

·     Items to take along include:

*         A dog bed or blanket

*         Water bowl

*         Snacks / treats

*         Leash and Collar with your contact information

*         Poop Bags

*         A copy of your dog's vaccination records

*         Dog toys

·     When you and your dog arrive at work:

*         Take your dog to where it will spend the day then let it sniff and investigate

*         Set up for the day with the bed, bowl, water, and toys

*         Introduce your "best friend" to your "work friends"

*         Remember to take potty breaks and pick up after your dog

·     Even though your dog is there, you’re still on the job. Work like a dog so your boss lets you do this again next year...and maybe even throughout the year.
