A magnitude 4.1 earthquake shook an inland region of San Diego County on Sunday morning (January 30).
The quake struck near Palomar Observatory, about three miles west-southwest, in north San Diego County at around 9:46 A.M., according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
However, the shaking was felt as far south as Chula Vista and as far north as Riverside County. Shaking was reported most strongly in North County areas like Escondido, Oceanside, and San Marcos, according to FOX5.
“There were 2 main jolts with a rapid shaking,” the National Weather Service office in San Diego said on Twitter.
San Diego's police and fire departments said there were no immediate reports of major damage or injury caused by the earthquake.
