A shooting in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter Sunday that left one person dead, is again raising concerns about safety in the popular downtown destination.
Police Chief Scott Wahl tells KOGO's Conway and Larson Show there are more officers in the Gaslamp these days and more conversations between police and local businesses.
"We have to make sure we are working together to apprehend those who are committing violence or ideally we're getting information shared with us so we can prevent violent crime" he tells KOGO.
A recent Grand Jury report read the SDPD Gaslamp enforcement Team needs the community's help and cooperation. The report also recommended police bicycle teams be visible and active during the daytime.
