Angry about immigration laws, some people in El Cajon are telling City Council members they should not be supporting Federal Immigration Enforcement.
During a packed El Cajon City Council meeting Tuesday, many locals blasted council members for passing a resolution that stripped El Cajon of its sanctuary City status.
Others lashed out at Mayor Bill Wells for leading the charge, saying the police department is already too think in the County's most racially diverse city.
Some Council members say sanctuary status poses a direct threat to the safety of those who live in the city.
