Suckerfree: San Diego's New Southern Food Spot!
Proper Southern girl AND foodie that I am, I'm super excited about this new Southern food restaurant in the Gaslamp. Suckerfree's owner, Ron Suel, also owns StreetCar Merchants in North Park...so you know he knows good food!
Located at 751 4th Ave., Suckerfree Southern Plate & Bar is so awesome that my friend Gwen has gone 3 times & the restaurant only made it's debut this month! I took a look at their menu & it made me so excited for my first visit to the restaurant...fried chicken, seafood gumbo, collard greens, po' boys, deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, chicken & waffles. But what I'm most excited about is the Mac 'N Cheese flight, OH MY GOD! You know I'm from Texas, right? Well the pecan tree is the state tree of Texas & I take my pecan dishes very seriously. So I'm super excited about the Bourbon Pecan Pancakes & the Honey Pecan Donuts at Suckerfree.
I'm gathering a group of friends to go with me in the next week or two. So if you're looking for a new restaurant to try this weekend, you might wanna make it Suckerfree! Check out pics of some of the yummy food they offer below...
