Whittier native Alexandria Rodriguez stopped at a local convince store to buy an energy drink and ended up purchasing a winning lottery ticket that caught her eye. According to UPI, Rodriguez recently stopped at Helen's Market on Santa Fe Springs, a location she's frequented since she was a kid, with no idea that her life would soon change forever.
The fortunate California resident had no intention of purchasing a ticket when she entered the establishment, but the colors on one Xtreme Multiplier scratch-off ticket piqued her interest.
"It was catchy. I liked the colors. I was like, 'eh, just give me that one. What's interesting is I ended up picking my lucky number." The lottery ticket in question turned out to be the million dollar winner! The lottery player revealed the reasoning behind her lucky number, and what the money will help with.
"I was born on the 22nd -- that's my number. The money is going to help with a lot of things. I'm just looking forward to what one million dollars is going to bring. Positive things only!"
Rodriguez is not the only one benefitting from the recent lottery win. Helen's Market on Santa Fe Springs will also receive a bonus just for being the store to sell a winning ticket!
