Amazon has announced it has begun hiring for over 1,500 positions at the new fulfillment center in Otay Mesa, reports the Times of San Diego.
The new 3 million-square-foot center at Otay Mesa Road and Enrico Fermi Drive is allegedly one of the largest buildings ever constructed in San Diego County.
The structure has more floor space than the San Diego Convention Center, according to NBC7.
"You can see it from so far, like a destination," Rob Hixson, a commercial real estate broker, said back in September 2020.
Those who fill the full-time positions will work alongside robots and other "advanced technology" to pick, pack, and ship small products like books and electronics.
Job candidates must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent. If you are interested, you can apply here or by texting SDNOW to 77088.
According to Amazon, the jobs pay a $15 per hour starting wage and offer benefits and opportunities for advancement.
