Is Gigi Hadid's four-year-old daughter Khai the next model-in-the-making? That's for her to decide!
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight ahead of this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, backstage, Gigi gushed over her little girl. When asked if Khai understands what her mom does for a living, Hadid said, "Not really. I mean, she will love this when I show her, but more for the costumes, and the fantasy. Which is so much of the reason that I love it, the same way that I love Broadway [and] the theater, I love the show. It's such a production, and the wings, and the costumes are really so beautiful, so I think she'll love it for those reasons. But, no, she doesn't really know what I do. She knows I walk a runway, and she knows I make sweaters, she comes to my knitwear company, to our office. So she knows that I do fashion, but she doesn't know what that means."
But, will Khai follow in her mom's footsteps one day? Maybe! But, that's ultimately up to Khai, and it sounds like she has a lot of other interests, including music (her dad is Zayn Malik, after all). Gigi explained, "I want her to do whatever she wants, but she's interested in so many things. She can have a dress up moment and strike a pose, I can tell you that. But, she's also so musical, artistic, smart, she loves space, so I don't know if it'll be modeling, but if it is, then I'll be happy."
A few weeks ago, Hadid celebrated Khai's fourth birthday in a heartfelt Instagram post. Along with several photos of the little one's Yoda-themed birthday party and a few from a beach vacation, Gigi wrote, "Our girl is 4 today and we celebrated all week!!! She loves animals (fantastical ones too), music, baby yoda, all things nature & bugs, Descendants, anything squishy or miniature, and if possible- will be in the water from dawn til dusk. She is curious, adventurous, loving, and oh so witty. Khai- it is my life’s greatest joy and pride to be your mama!!!! Thank you for the four best years of my life- you remind me to live life to the fullest every day, in the most simple & beautiful ways. Your possibilities are endless, my sweetest love !!!! YODA BEST."
