Help Two Veterans Rebuild After House Fire

A 96-year-old local veteran is being forced to start from the ground up, after a fire tore through his Potrero home.

Frederick Brown lost nearly everything he owned, and is currently staying with family in Spring Valley.

Family member Lauralee Brown tells San Diego's Morning news, everything happened quickly when strong winds hit earlier this month.

"They were super cold and so there was a fire in the fireplace, and the winds just took it and put it in the rafters and the whole rafters in the roof started burning."

The damage left behind is extensive. Brown has now set up a go fund me page for her grandfather who served in the army and airforce, and her uncle who was in the air force.

"We're trying to get them settled, he's 96 he shouldn't be worrying about this. I just want to get him settled as soon as possible." If you would like to donate to the family, you can click on the go fund me link below.
