Kim Kardashian is remembering her late father Robert Kardashian Sr. 22 years after his death.
The Kardashians star shared an emotional letter to her father on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday (September 30) reflecting on the years since his passing in 2003 and how he has been gone for the same amount of time she had with him while he was alive.
"Thank you for always protecting the family from heaven," she said, sharing an edited photo of herself in a graduation cap and gown next to her dad. "Can't believe I was 22 years old when you passed away and it's been 22 years today since you went to heaven. I've known you just as long as you've been gone. I hope you're so proud of all of us. We love you dad and mis you sooooooooo much. 🕊️🥹"
Robert, who passed away at 59 after a short battle with esophageal cancer, is also dad to Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Rob Kardashian Jr., all of whom he welcomed with Kris Jenner prior to their divorce in 1991, per People. Earlier this year, Kim and her sisters reflected on how their lives may look different if their father was still around, including Kim who joked that she would "be grounded for life already."
The SKIMS founder is also following in her father's footsteps after graduating law school this summer to "pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer." Robert was an attorney who famously worked on the O.J. Simpson murder trial in 1995.
